KOHLER, Wis. – Nov. 8, 2023 – The Fast Company ‘Brands that Matter’ list named Kohler for improving the sustainability and safety of home products in style – securing the global leader as one of only two brands in the home category. The list recognizes 165 brands that give people compelling reasons to care about them—and offer inspiration for others to buy in.
Fast Company editors judged each brand on relevancy, cultural impact, ingenuity, and business impact to compile the list. Kohler was featured for several of its industry leading activations, including the WasteLAB Abstra tile, Heritage Colors campaign and Global Artist Editions collaboration. These products and campaigns represent Kohler’s color leadership, legacy in driving design innovation and its Believing in Better operating philosophy that is rooted in the notion that its best can always be better – for the planet, people, communities, and business.
“It is an honor to be named on the Brands that Matter list, especially in our 150th anniversary year,” says Samie Barr, Kohler Co. Chief Brand Officer. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our passionate associates in creating solutions that improve the lives of customers every day.”
The companies and nonprofits on the list have built cultural relevance and impact through compelling branding and efforts that naturally extend their presence into the community. All 165 have found an ability to forge an emotional connection with customers, whether leading on the environment or pop culture, engaging B2B customers, or responding meaningfully to current events.
Kohler was also recognized by Fast Company in 2023 for Best Workplace for Innovators 2023 list, Best Designs for Social Justice – Kohler Cleanse and Best Experience Design – Transcendence Hammam by Nada Debs.
