Kohler Co. Partners with Homes For Our Troops to Build Homes for Injured Veteran

KOHLER, Wis. — April 12, 2012 — Kohler Co. proudly announces a partnership with Homes for Our Troops, a national non-profit organization that builds specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans. The Kohler sponsorship spans three years and will provide plumbing products and home standby generators to outfit the injured veterans’ new homes.

Products donated through the sponsorship include KOHLER and STERLING brand Americans with Disability Act (ADA)-compliant or universally designed toilets, shower enclosures, baths, bathroom and kitchen sinks, and KOHLER showerheads, handshowers, bathroom faucets and kitchen faucets, as well as several permanently installed automatic home generators from Kohler Power Systems.

“The families supported by Homes for Our Troops have sacrificed so much; we are grateful to them,” said Todd Weber, director of product publicity for Kohler Co. “We are proud that we can help these injured veterans and their families live more comfortably in their new homes.”

Kohler’s donation will help the organization build more than 100 homes for injured veterans. The homes include products that will help the veterans participate in and enjoy daily life with their families: barrier-free KOHLER kitchen sinks to allow veterans to better participate in food prep and cleaning, STERLING showers for easier showering, and a number of the homes will receive standby generators which can keep critical medical equipment and key appliances functional for the families in the event of a power outage.
