Reducing Environmental Impacts

  • Share:

We are working to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and help our customers reduce their own impacts. We regularly track performance data to measure progress toward reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, waste to landfill, as well as energy, fuel, and water use.

Driving Down Operational GHG Emissions

In 2025 we reduced Scope 1 + 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions (market-based) by 9% through energy efficiency and fuel-switching projects, expanding our onsite solar and renewable electricity procurement.

Increasing Solar Installations Globally

We now have 31 solar installations across our global footprint, including Power Purchase Agreements that contain solar, across sites in the U.S., Canada, China, Mexico, Netherlands, India, Morocco, Thailand, and South Korea. We are proud to have procured 100% of the electricity from our U.S. and Canada operations from renewable sources since 2019.

Transforming Waste to Value

As a global company, Kohler Co. locations operate with different materials and varying access to recycling and recovery infrastructure. Rather than relying on a single approach, local teams apply and share thoughtful site-specific solutions, using diversion, reuse, and waste minimization strategies that reflect local regulations, infrastructure, and operational needs. 173,119 metric tons of waste were diverted from landfill in 2025.

Leading Impact Globally

Our associates innovate and lead projects to make a positive impact around the world, from conserving water and reducing emissions and waste to supporting local organizations.
