If you ever have the pleasure of meeting Jeanne Dahlen, we guarantee she will brighten your day. She’s the essence of gracious customer service—a welcoming smile, infectious energy, and the ultimate people person.
It’s no surprise, then, that she’s built a successful career in the retail industry. With more than three decades of experience growing brands and managing stores across the country, Jeanne (left, pictured with Sr. Sales Manager Amy Hampton-Davies) was the perfect person to lead KOHLER® Signature Stores and Experience Centers for North America. In this unique role, she oversees Sales and Business Development Managers to direct daily store operations and support new market growth, traveling the country (and beyond) to visit her teams.
“I’m able to do much of my work while traveling on the road—in hotels, airports, and Ubers on my way to stores,” she described. “It takes some juggling, but it’s an exciting adventure.”
On paper, Jeanne Dahlen is classified as a remote associate, but she’s rarely in her home office. She spends most of her time meeting with distributors and visiting stores, helping them grow volume, market share and profitability, and building relationships and connections that can only be done in person.
“The store is where the magic happens. I love being there with our teams and learning what our customers are looking for,” she explained. “The time together fuels me and gives me energy to do all I can for them.”
With her adaptable work mode, Jeanne can strategically plan her days and weeks to balance focused work time with team collaboration.
“My job is all about flexibility of location, which actually makes it easier to prioritize and separate the immediate tasks at hand with the strategy work behind the scenes,” she said. “This helps me to stay focused and make sure my team feels excited, supported, and inspired.”
So, while Jeanne’s office may be scattered across the country, it’s far from remote. It’s a network of 34 KOHLER Signature Stores and Experience Centers, filled with passionate people and an undeniable energy to create amazing kitchen and bath designs through best-in-class customer experiences.
And it’s only going to get bigger and better. Jeanne and her team have the ambitious goal to triple the number of stores in North America within the next three years. She’s confident they can get there with the knowledge and expertise of her in-store teams.
“The answers are always in the stores,” Jeanne affirmed. “As a leader that is intrinsically inspired by people and ideas, that is where I find the most inspiration and excitement.”
